“ Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances. ”

“ In absurdist experience, suffering is individual. But from the moment when a movement of rebellion begins, suffering is seen as a collective experience. Therefore the first progressive step for a mind overwhelmed by the strangeness of things is to realize that this feeling of strangeness is shared with all men and that human reality, in its entirety, suffers from the distance which separates it from the rest of the universe. The malady experienced by a single man becomes a mass plague. In our daily trials rebellion plays the same role as does the ‘cogito’ in the realm of thought: it is the first piece of evidence. But this evidence lures the individual from his solitude. It founds its first value on the whole human race. I rebel—therefore we exist. ”

“ A true traveller finds boredom rather agreeable than painful. It is the symbol of his liberty – his excessive freedom. He accepts his boredom, when it comes, not merely philosophically, but almost with pleasure. ”

Spending Cuts?

All the talks they’ve been having haven’t lead to any conclusions or agreements. Awesome.

I’m glad all these people that get paid to talk and make decisions are having such a hard time doing so.

Here’s my suggestion. Cut out the military intervention with all the other countries we’re involved with right now, I bet that will save us tons of money.

Damn politicians.

Things aren’t supposed to be ALL good.

There seems to be a popular misconception that if we’re feeling stressed or upset about something that it’s a problem, that it’s something out of the ordinary that shouldn’t be happening by any means. This misconception has led a generation to seek a solution to these ingrained emotions in the form of pills and medication.

There’s something terribly wrong with that.

Our emotion, along with the rest of the areas of our (mostly) functioning brains, serve a purpose to our life. You see, above all other things there must be balance. This means even a balance between good and bad things in life. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “you can’t appreciate the good without experiencing the bad,” and it couldn’t be more true.

Bad things and sad situations are a part of life. You can’t call something “good” without having something “bad” to compare it to. So next time you’re upset about something and frantically grasping at a quick-fix in the form of a pill, or even just trying to run away and not face the bad situation, remember that it’s happening for a reason. A reason you or I may never understand, but a reason none the less.

All things serve a purpose, all you have to do is find it. Go with the flow. Don’t fight what you encounter, just have faith that you will be carried to new and better things as your life moves forward.
